Common Dental Implant Scams in Las Vegas: Don’t Fall For It!
by Norm Cutter MT ASCP, (norman@budgetdental.com)

1.You’ve seen the ads on the Billboards, TV, Radio, Websites, Craigslist, etc: $600 Dental IMPLANTS! $300 IMPLANTS  FREE IMPLANTS!  Heck, if you wait a year, they’ll be offering to PAY YOU to place IMPLANTS!  The key is getting you in the door at any price. Many times, that price is the dentist’s lack of integrity, which is clearly a pathetic sign of the times.
It’s almost always a scam, folks. This pernicious con is everywhere these days, because it works on TWO different levels to separate you from your money:
ONE:  This con works, because it’s based on the public’s misconception of what a dental implant really is.  When most folks think of dental implants,..we think: new tooth, tooth replacement, artificial tooth, I can chew again! I’m gonna improve my smile, I don’t want dentures, this is gonna improve my luck with the opposite sex, etc. The dental implant scammers actually promote this imagery with website and billboard photos of beautifully dazzling, sexy celebrity smiles. But, once you fall for the ads,..and they get you in for your “free consult”,..you will soon realize you’ve been had. You are about to attend a Time Sharing sales job, but without the free Vegas Show Tickets at the end!
What it comes down to is that $500 or $300 or FREE! implant ad was a ruse to get you in their hot seat. Yes, you get the Little Screw that goes into your jawbone for FREE!!, but only after letting them charge your VISA for a couple grand for, say,..the NEW TOOTH that you’ll need to FILL THAT BIG UGLY HOLE! And, not to mention: antibiotics, pain meds, panoramic and single xrays, cat scan, follow up appointments and xrays,, prescription mouth wash, abutment, temporary cap, sutures, anger management classes to deal with your newly developed hatred for Dentists.
Another angle on this scam is, once they get you in for your initial xray,..they “regret to inform you that that $600, $300, or FREE! IMPLANT is for the “Mini-Implant”...of which is not suitable for your particular case”.  If you hear the words “Mini-Implant”...I suggest you run, don’t walk, to a trusted dentist for a second opinion.
TWO: The Dental Implant scam works by betraying the trust that the average person has in The Doctor. When most of us think about the professions, we invariably place Doctors above everyone else in terms of nobility, self sacrifice,..and, above all, trustworthiness. While I like to think that most Doctors are worthy of our sacred trust,..all it takes are a few unscrupulous individuals to fleece us like trusting sheep.
The tricky part of the scam is when they have to explain the lies in the ad, and still act like they care about you as a patient and not just a fool with money. As a secret shopper of these scammers, I can tell you they are extremely polished at the bait and switch: they either read a persuasive script over the phone explaining why it’s not really lying to advertise a FREE implant that’s going to cost you thousands of dollars,.. and that you really should come in anyway)  or they beat you down with a half-hour ‘presentation’ right out of Time Sharing 101.

Here’s what I want to leave you with. We at Budget Dental are just like you,..when we talk Implants,..we mean exactly that. You, a happy customer, eating and smiling with your brand new tooth or teeth. We make our prices available on our Website, in our Lobby, and from our great Team Members answering the phone. We, as much as you, HATE it when they say “Oh, we don’t discuss prices over the phone”.. When they say that, what they are really saying is “our prices are shockingly high, so we’re hoping you’ll waste so much time and gas coming in here that you’ll just flop down in the chair like a gaffed marlin, regardless of the price."
I am just saying,..if a doctor is so unscrupulous as to scrounge for patients with false advertising,..do you really want this guy’s hands in your mouth?  Or wallet?
BTW: We just so happen to be running a HUGE PROMO on Dental Implants. Until we say otherwise, our basic Implant is now lowered to $1800. No games,..just the lowest price in Las Vegas, period, for the whole package. Please take the time to peruse the awards that our very own Dr. Cutter DMD FAGD (soon to be MAGD)  has earned. The bulk of her Implant expertise comes from training at the prestigious Misch Institute. She also graduated at the top of her Dental School, Magna Cum Laude,..so, we don’t just flap our gums about “unbeatable price and quality”,..at Budget Dental, we can prove it. Our prices are ONLINE, our awards are hanging in our lobby.

Gratuitously Fishing for The Hits.

An expert said that, in order to get noticed on Google, you should use the following words in your website: buy, purchase, bargain, best, cheap, new, inexpensive, low cost, low price, reduced, affordable, orthodontist, discount, etc.

"Ok, I said to myself, I will." Jack Kerouak, from On the Road. If you don't believe me, send me an email and I'll tell you exactly where it is in the book. Norm, BudgetDental@outlook.com

We had a team member meeting last week, and we're all discussing what the word 'Budget' in Budget Dental means to us. We had a consensus in that we don't mean the word to connote "cheap"; we define ourselves as delivering Highest Value at the Lowest Price; that is our business model and we're decidedly stickin' to it.
